Huge improvement over previous range hood. The previous range hood looked nearly identical. However, the exhaust power of this one far exceeds it.
After installing this range hood, it was used to re-season some cast iron skillets with the in the over. The amount of noise produced from this hood v/s the previous was remarkable. You couldn't hear the hood fan running on medium speed in the next room. Also you could actually see the smoke being pulled from the stove up into the hood like it should. The smell was very little if any during the reseason process compared to having to open the doors and windows with the old one. The fan ran for three hours straight without an issue during all of this. Highly impressed with this range hood.
I also love how the lighting is situated to the front of the hood instead of the back like the old one. They are able to light up the stove surface much better at the front location.
This is a great looking range hood. Comes with everything you need to install. The electrical is simple, all you need is an electrical outlet to plug in, no wiring required. The exhaust has 3 fan speeds from low to high which are not too loud. I like that it has an automatic shutoff button to turn it off after 15 minutes. The filters are easy to remove and are heavy duty. What I cannot tell is if there is any filters built into the screens. They are all stainless steel and you dont see any type of mesh filter. The light control is simple, just an off and on. The blower is in a plastic housing and has the damper flaps to help reduce airflow back into the kitchen area when not in use. As you can see from my pictures there is a lot of blue and gray film cover to remove before you can use which they have on to protect the metal.
